Therapy Support Group for MFT Interns and Trainees

 

While pursuing MFT licensure, many MFT Interns and Trainees find solace in finding support from peer/mentors in the MFT field.   This therapy support group will allow a safe, consistent environment to receive the therapeutic support and empowerment necessary for all those embarking on this path of the Therapy Profession…

Maggie de Vera is a well-respected Therapist, Clinical Supervisor, Trainer and Consultant in the Bay Area.  Backed with extensive experience (of over 20 years), education and training, Maggie is known in her field to work effectively with the most challenging cases and currently runs a private practice in San Francisco as a Psychotherapist, Marriage Family Therapist, Clinical Hypnotherapist, Sex Therapist, Speaker/Trainer and Consultant.  Maggie de Vera is also the Founder and President/CEO of ROYAL- Realizing Our Youth As Leaders Inc., a Non-profit Agency preparing disadvantaged and at-risk youth for life and leadership and Therapy Clinic

 

Group Focus:

• Receiving and providing empowerment and therapeutic support to/from peers, facilitated/led by Maggie de Vera, a Licensed Marriage Family Therapist and Clinical Supervisor with extensive experience in the field.

• Dealing with countertransferance/transference issues

• Utilizing/implementing therapeutic skills and tools.  Some of these include (but not limited to): Coping, Anger Management, Conflict Resolution, Communication, Cognitive/Behavior and Mood Management

• Addressing anxiety re: career, work, job, school, and/or internships.

• Managing life stresses during process of pursuing MFT licensure

• Enhancing confidence

• Addressing issues of sensitivity towards human diversity issues

 

MFT Intern/Trainee Therapy support group is comprised of 12 weeks  and may continue as an on-going group upon completion.  Groups are held on Tuesday evenings from 6:00-8:30pm (Subject to change to accommodate majority of participants).

• Group Size:  6-12

• Start Date:  September 15, 2009

• Cost:  Sliding scale- $55.00-70.00 per session
